Our search for organic producers has taken us from the valley of Tomatlan to the mountains east of Puerto Vallarta, Mazamitla, Tapalpa, and around Chapala Lake. We prefer to stay as local as possible, We have had to look north of the border for products that our members have requested such as organic maple syrup and some hard to find grains.
We work with small family farms that are committed to organic growing principals. We DO NOT require certification as this certification is very expensive for these small growers, we prefer to VERIFY and SUGGEST the changes that need to be made in their growing practices before any produce or product can make it onto the Organic Select menu. This policy has allowed Organic Select ot suggest changes coherent with traditional Mexican growing practicies.
Organic Select requires original seed stocks to insure our produce is free of trans-genetic breeds. We prefer to work with farmers who provide employment for local families rather then importing cheaper labor from other states. We pay a fair market price to our growers taking into consideration the labor intensive jobs relating to organic production, building soil, composting, harvesting, washing, disinfecting, packaging and transporting the produce.
Organic Select containers and bottles are selected to be re-cycled re-cycle, re-cycle
